About the Author
Eric Carle, in my mind, is a brilliant writer and artist. He was born in the Untiled States but moved to Germany at the age of six. He lived there until graduating from an art school by the name of Akademie der bildenden Kunste. He left Germany to go back to the United States where he worked for The New York Times and later an advertizing agency as an art director.
He found his true calling after another author asked him to collaborate on a children's book. This book "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" was a hit and helped Mr. Carle to start illistrating and writing his own children's books.
The result was "1, 2, 3 to the Zoo" and many more, including the best selling book, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar".
